Edna S. Cambre
August 20, 1929 – January 1, 2023
Edna Gertrude Stafford Cambre peacefully completed her earthly journey on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Denham Springs. She was 93 years old, a native of Livingston, and a resident of Walker for over 65 years. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a loving grandmother.
She was born August 20, 1929 in Livingston as the third child of Solon and Gladys Stafford. She married her beloved R.J. on December 1, 1945, and just a few short weeks later, he sailed away with the Navy to serve his country in World War II. They were reunited after two long years and settled in Walker to raise their family. She was an active member of Walker Baptist Church who volunteered her time teaching Vacation Bible School, GAs, and Sunday School to both children and adults. She loved to read and study the Bible and devoted much of her time to supporting mission work. She was also an accomplished cook and seamstress.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Deon Cambre Felder (Randy); her granddaughter, Heather Donielle Meades Cifreo (Brian); great-grandchildren, Joseph Ramie Cifreo, Samuel Henry Cifreo, Ella Faith Cifreo, and Addison Jessie Cifreo; brother, Huey Stafford (Ida); sister, Yvonne S. Addison; sister-in-law, Judy S. Stafford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Solon and Gladys McDonald Stafford; husband, Ramie Joseph “R.J.” Cambre; son, Mark Douglas Cambre; daughter, Pamela Faith Cambre Meades; sister, Evelyn Stafford Cambre, and brothers, Carl and Lonnie Stafford. Pallbearers will be Brian Cifreo, Joseph Cifreo, Samuel Cifreo, Jesse Meades, Jr., Jeff Cambre, and Jerry Dedon.
Visitation will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 10:00 am until services at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery No. 1 in Holden. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Harvest Manor Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Gentiva Hospice for the comfort and intricate care they provided our loved one.
