Darlene Ann Babin

January 26, 1958 – January 19, 2023

Darlene Babin, 64, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Gonzales on January 19, 2023.  Born January 26, 1958 in Baton Rouge, she was retired from OxyChem in Geismar, LA. She was a lover of cats and especially her dog, Tater.  She was an excellent cook and loved sharing those meals with her family.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Alicia Lambert; grandchildren, BreeAnne LaValley (Alex)  and Braydon Mire; great granddaughter Ali LaValley; brother, Hugh Babin and a special niece that was like a sister to her, Kay Braud Dupuy and a host of nieces and great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her father, Chester Babin, her mother Angelle Babin and her sister Claudette Braud.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice staff members for the kindness and dedication given to Darlene.  We are forever grateful and your compassion will never be forgotten.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Darlene’s honor.
