Carla Jan Owens Clayton

The family of Carla Jan Owens Clayton is saddened to announce that she lost her short battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the age of 54. Carla peacefully passed away surrounded by the comfort of her family. Carla was born the middle child to Richard Walter and Charlene Lee Owens on September 3, 1968, in Hammond, LA. She was a long-time Practical Nurse and a strong independent woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carla is survived by her son Hunter Aaron Clayton, and his significant other Maleena Martindill of Ponchatoula, LA. She is also survived by brothers Richard “Ricky” Wayne Owens, and wife Dawn of Troy, TN, and Scott Lee Owens, and wife Judy of Kaplan, LA. She was a proud aunt to several nieces and nephews including Adora Poole, Celeste Owens, Richard C. Owens, Jacob Owens, Paulette Primeaux and Ethan Owens. Carla was also the proud great aunt to the children of Adora named Rebecca, Daniel, and Jeremy Jackaon. Carla is also survived by numerous cousins, uncles, and aunts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard W. and Charlene L. Owens of Albany, her paternal grandparents Ralph and Reba Owens of Baptist, and her maternal grandparents Claiborne E. Lee and Elizabeth Lemak of Hammond.
