Edwin Morgan Bishop

January 16, 1936 – February 5, 2023

 

Edwin Morgan Bishop born in Jackson, Mississippi on January 16, 1936 to Lucie May McMullen and James Morgan Bishop died peacefully in the Butterfly Wing of Baton Rouge General Mid City on Sunday, February 5th 2023. He spent his childhood in Hammond, attended Southern College, LSU, and graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula. He served in the U.S. Air Force, worked for the U.S. Forrest Service, as a mud engineer for Baroid Industrial Drilling and LSU Department of Marine Science and Sea Grant. He was a volunteer counselor for The Phone in Baton Rouge; and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Edwin is survived by his daughter Stephanie Peneguy and husband Matt in Plaquemine, his brother James M. Bishop  and wife Ginni in South Carolina and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Edwin Benjamin Bishop, sisters Ann Champlin (Bill) and Dorothy “Dottie” Jenkins (Bob), and special friend Sherry Vaughn. As per Edwin’s wishes he will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
