June 19, 2001 ~ February 7, 2023
Cody James Herring, 21, of Baker, Louisiana entered his eternal rest on February 7, 2023. He was born on June 19, 2001, in Baton Rouge to James Christopher Herring and Tanya Marie Richardson Herring.
He is survived by his parents Chris and Tanya Herring; grandparents James and Deonne Herring, and Ronald Richardson; aunts and uncles Amber and Erik Paulk, Angela Herring, Julie Gardner, Ronny Richardson, and many cousins who loved him dearly. He is proceeded in death by Marie and Chad Richardson.
Cody was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He had a smile that could light up any room and a heart made of gold. Cody loved his family and friends unconditionally and always wanted what was best for them. He was a protector and a helper. He was humble, caring, loyal, and kind. He had a love for animals, especially his dog Onyx which he spoiled immensely. Cody never met a stranger and would help anyone in need.
Cody so desperately wanted to stay here with us, but his heart was too heavy for this chaotic world. He would want each of us to take comfort in knowing that his soul is at rest and his heart is at peace. He has now been reunited with his loved ones that have passed and has been made whole again.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 10:00-12:00 at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA 70726 with funeral services directly following. Graveside services will be held immediately after at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6213 Groom Rd., Baker, LA 70714. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Rock Church, 20810 Plank Rd., Zachary, LA 70791 at the conclusion of burial services to find comfort and share memories of Cody.
