It is with great sadness that the Blount family announces the death of Clifton Muriel Blount. Clifton was 92 years old and peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023. Clifton was born on July 26th, 1930, in Satsuma, Louisiana, to Mr. Right Justice Blount and Ms. Vera Magdeline Mounce Blount. 

Clifton had many hobbies, including fishing, gardening, craft-making, and painting. He also enjoyed watching wrestling on T.V., but his favorite activity was spending time with his family. Clifton proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on July 31st, 1961. 

Clifton is survived by his brother, Columbus Blount; his children, Gary Dwayne Blount, Barbara Joann Blount, Eric Maurice Blount, Carla Blount Junker; his grandchildren, Johnny Blount, Nicki Harrell, Jennifer Blount, Bridget Soileau, Gary Sims, Kristina Simoneaux, Crystal Sims, Jimmy Martin, Kevin Smith, Erika Sullivan, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Clifton was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Madgeline Mounce Blount; his father, Right Justice Blount; his wife, Audrey Oliphant Blount; his siblings, Edna, Henry, Clyde, Jesse, Larecy, Cornelius, Gladys Blount, and Billy Jackson; his daughter, Vickie Blount. 

Visitation services will be held at Seale Funeral Home (20335 Texas St, Livingston, La. 70754) on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Visitation hours will resume on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Brother David Lane will conduct funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Burial services will conclude at Blount Cemetery in Satsuma, La. Family and friends are encouraged to gather in celebration of Clifton’s life at Judson Baptist Church (32470 Walker Rd. N, Walker, La. 70785).
