Babs” Sheridan, age 71, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. She was born May 23, 1951, in Bogalusa, LA. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, in Denham Springs, LA. She had a love of gardening and flowers, especially pansies. She loved bird watching, traveling, and animals, especially her dog, Levi. All who knew Babs knew her for her vibrant smile, contagious laugh, and ready to go personality. She loved LSU baseball and football and the Houston Astros. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and proud grandmother. She had many careers in her life: Merle Norman consultant, Registered Nurse, and cross-country truck driver with her husband, Willie. She was also a substitute teacher and loved talking with her students.
She is survived by loving husband of 30 years, Willie Smith. Adoring sister and best friend, Shannon Anderson. One Brother-in-law, Andy Anderson. Son, Randall (Emily) Stafford. Stepsons and daughters, Marilyn (Mark) McCulley, Carolyn (Steve) Venable, David Smith, and Tommy Smith. Grandchildren, Tyler and Drew Stafford, Blake (Elizabeth) McCulley, Abbey McCulley, and Steven Venable. Four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Aunts, Irma Pettit, Nell Bond, Melba Bond, and Laverne Corkern. Special friends, Charlotte (Wendall) Walker, and Meagan Tassin.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Richard O. Sheridan, and Nelda Bond Sheridan. Brother, Richard “Rick” Sheridan, stepfather, John Haire. Granddaughter, Victoria McCulley. Grandparents, Jewel E. Bond Sr. and Isabel Penny Bond, and other family members.
Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA, Saturday, February 18th, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with funeral service being held at 11:00 am
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite church or charity in her honor.
