A resident of Denham Springs, she died peacefully Friday, February 24, 2023, at home. Shirley was born March 3, 1935, in New Orleans. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 beginning at 11:00am with funeral services at 1:00pm in the Seale Funeral Home Chapel, Denham Springs with Chaplain Ricky Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter Debra Perkins Bowman and her husband, Terry Bowman; sister Patricia West Owings (David); brother William Eugene West (Daria). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jacinda Buchanan, Jewel Fontenot (Gary), Justin Bowman (Crystal), Joel Perkins, Jason Perkins, Jenny Richard (Adam), and Jessica Duplessis (Matthew) as well as great-grandchildren Michael, Hailee, and Livey Davila, Elijah Cryer, Chloe Perkins, Cole and Cate Duplessis, and Aubrey Seay. She was preceded in death by her former husband Hines Ray Perkins, son Michael “Country” Perkins, parents William and Pearl West, and sister Beverly West. Pallbearers will be Justin Bowman, Joel Perkins, Jason Perkins, Matthew Duplessis, William West, Michael Davila, and Cole Duplessis.
