In the passing of the Steve Pierce, I am holding his beloved wife, Jackie and family in my prayers. I met Steve and Jackie through their longtime, close friends Steve and Martha Strohschein in Baton Rouge. I remember that their sons, Tanner and Will, became the best of friends through the friendship of these two wonderful families. I remember Steve well from his thoughtful, caring faith and his positive, kind spirit. I remember the love between Steve and Jackie, and their love and care for all members of their families and their circles of friends within the church and throughout the community. This love clearly reflects God’s heart and God’s inclusive love for all. Thanks be to God for the life and legacy of Steve Pierce. Steve reminds us that in life and death, we belong to God.

    To Steve’s Family,
I was so sad to hear the news of Steve’s passing. I met him on a project in the Virgin Islands and he brought much needed calm and the ability to reason at a time it was greatly needed. We enjoyed talking about grandchildren and life on the Diversion Canal. He was someone who was easy to be around and will be sadly missed. Your family is in my prayers.

Steve’s passing has left a wide gap my heart, as well as in our work family. His leadership, knowledge and commitment were apparent in every encounter. He exhibited a graciousness that few others can achieve. I will miss our texts and collaboration and of course, our garden discussions. He ended every meeting with “Appreciate Ya’ll”. Because of Steve, I will forever remember to tell others they are appreciated.
It was easy to surmise that Steve loved the Lord, so my first thought when I heard the sad news of his passing was that he is in Glory. My thoughts and prayers go out now to the family, that you may find peace and comfort in the Father.

Steve is a man I dearly love. His zeal for the Lord was infectious. When in his presence, you could feel the love of Christ. His gentle spirit and bright smile could really lift up anyone’s day. I am only comforted by the fact that I know he is thrilled to be in the presence of his Lord. Jackie, I am so sorry about this unexpected tragedy. Just know that your friends are praying for you and that we are here for you. We love you and your children and pray the Lord’s peace upon you all.

    Jackie,
To say that I am heartbroken would be a complete understatement! I honestly have no words. Steve was a consummate professional, ultimate gentleman, and sincere mentor, and I am honored to have called him a friend. I will genuinely miss chatting, venting, and laughing with him daily! My prayers and deepest condolences to you and the family. May he rest in peace.

My prayers and thoughts go out to Steve’s wife, children, and family of his sudden passing. My heart is saddened over the loss of such a fine man and friend. Steve was a terrific leader in my work with him. I will always remember him for all his mentoring to me. I will especially hold close to me the kind words he gave me when I was losing my dad to cancer. Because of him and his friendship, I will wrap myself in those kind words and caring to feel warm when the world becomes cold. Having known Steve, I know he is in a loving place now and looking down on all those he loved and influenced here. Thank you for allowing me to be in your life.
