In loving memory, Madeline Sue Lee Snead, passed away peacefully February 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by family in Denham Springs. Sue was born on November 3, 1946 in Strattanville, PA to her parents Eugene Clarence Lee and Odessa Laura Wills Lee. In 1978, she met the love of her life, Thomas David “Tom” Snead. They married on February 1, 1981. She had a son Gerald Snead and daughter Laura Snead Hodges, and Tom had 3 daughters Audra Snead, Karen Snead Scott, and Sharon Snead Bourgeois. Tom adopted Sue’s children and the blended family was just shy of being “The Brady Bunch”, and Sue was the glue that kept the family together. Sue and Tom were inseparable, even working together in business for over 40 years. In their early years of marriage, they owned and operated a convenience store “Tom & Sue’s Quick Stop”. After selling the store, they went into the insurance business Snead Insurance Agency. During this time, they became notaries and their business transitioned into tax, title, and license agencies in Baton Rouge. Sue was a strong and hardworking woman that instilled the same work ethics in her children. She leaves a legacy of many life lessons and skills to her children and grandchildren. She was mom and mawmaw to so many even those that didn’t belong to her. So spending her final days in a crowded house of family was how she lived life and she didn’t want it any other way. She described these days as “wonderful”. She was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She will be missed deeply by everyone whose lives she touched. She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years Thomas David Snead, son Gerald Snead (wife Lori); daughter Laura Snead Hodges (husband Tommy); 3 bonus daughters Audra Snead, Karen Snead Scott, and Sharon Snead Bourgeois (husband Bradley); 11 grandchildren Daimon Snead, Reagan Snead, Hunter Hodges, Justin Scott, Hayden Hodges, Carson Snead, Parker Snead, Haylee Hodges, Sara Kate Snead, Allie Bourgeois, Jake Bourgeois; cousin/“partner in crime” Sharon Smith Boogarets, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of grand-animals. She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene Clarence Lee and Odessa Laura Wills Lee, sister Sandra Olson, and brother Tommy Lee. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on Sunday March 5, 2023. Visitation will begin at 12pm until services at 2pm. Burial will follow a horse carriage procession to the Garden of Faith in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sue’s grandsons: Hunter Hodges, Hayden Hodges, Daimon Snead, Reagan Snead, Carson Snead, Parker Snead, Justin Scott, Jake Bourgeois.
