“She was planted on Earth to bloom in Heaven”
Diana Marie Mougeot Shivers, also known as “Nervie” to many, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at home with her loved ones by her side. After several months of courageously battling cancer, her tired body finally gave up at the age of 61. She was born in New Roads, LA and resided in Denham Springs, LA. Diana was very tiny, but had a heart bigger than the world. She will be remembered as a very kind and giving woman that put everyone’s needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Randy Shivers. She also leaves behind a daughter, Randi Boykin (Coty), son Shane Shivers, stepson Johnathan Shivers and grandson Mako Boykin, that brought so much joy to her life the short time she was able to spend with him and step granddaughter Kameron Boykin. She is also survived by her father, Victor Mougeot; sister Vicki Cannon (Lester); brother Blaine Mougeot (Shonda); sister in laws Robynn Schifano (Angelo) and Rhonda Hunt (Brian); nieces Celeste Mougeot, Kelsey Mougeot, Jamey Felton and Toni Smith; nephews Neal Wilson and Ryan Schifano.
She is preceded in death by her mother Rita “Smokey” Mougeot, brothers Greg and Patrick “Tuggie” Mougeot and mother and father in law, John and Jane Shivers. A celebration of her life will be held at New Life Worship Center, 806 Hospital Road, New Roads, LA on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. followed by services and burial.

Love and condolences from Tyler, Texas. Aunt Diana had a personality larger than life. I have fond memories of her from all of our times at False River and holiday gatherings. Uncle Randy, Shane, Randi Renee & Coty….I pray you feel the peace that passes all understanding.
