Clara Sue Brooks

Our beloved Clara Sue Brooks passed at 12:25pm on February 17, 2023 surrounded by family at the Woodleigh Nursing Home.

Clara was born in Fort Knox, KY on March 1, 1941. She graduated from Warner Brown School of Nursing and earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University. She retired from the Tau Center where she affected many people’s lives. She was the evening charge nurse there for many years and loved her job.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jewell Bostian Brooks, her father Worthy Eugene Brooks, her brother William Brooks and her sister Loretta Brooks.

Clara loved to read and had an extensive vocabulary, which was matched by very few. She loved to crochet and would make blankets for newborns.

She is survived by her sisters Gloria Jean Brooks and Odie Sims, her daughter Heather Wempren Jennings and Heather’s sons David Alexander Metz and Michael Joseph Jennings. Clara is also survived by her son Jeremy Christopher Wempren, his wife Tracy Elizabeth, their daughters Loren Ashley Morris, Keely Susan, and Loren’s husband Joel and their son Orion. She is also survived by her love, her dog Sugar.
