September 24, 1952 – March 22, 2023
Vickie Thomas Hatton was born on 9/24/1952 in Kansas City, KS and entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 22, 2023 surrounded by her son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. She is survived by her two children Dawn Graham Robinson and Joshua Graham (Kimberly), four grandchildren, Brandon Glenn, Paris Robinson, Nicholas and Taylor Graham, and one great grandson Kinston Oliver Glenn. She also leaves behind her brother Philip Thomas (Judy) and their daughters Emily and Julie and great niece Joy and nephew Brendan, her sister RaeAnn White (Robert) and their daughters Tanya and Jennifer and three great nephews Aiden, Trey, and Dylan and two nephews Jeremy Thomas and Michael Husser (Christina) and their two children Gracie and Lukas. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Glen Thomas and Ruth Dunsmore Reichman, husband of 35 years, Johnny Hatton, sister Gloria Husser, brother Barry Thomas, and son Mickey Brown. Vickie a.k.a “bookjunkie” was an avid book reader and probably read more books in one month than most people would read in a lifetime. From the time she could open the library doors, books became her best friend and most enjoyable hobby. She dealt with many hardships over her lifetime such as losing her first husband, one house to a fire and another due to the flood of 2016, however, she always kept strong and moving forward. She was not the person that liked to look backwards or wanted anyone to feel sorry for her. She cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, and always tried to put them first before herself.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral, 1720 S. Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726 on April 1, 2023 from 10 to 11 and funeral and burial service after.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Wounded Warriors Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
Lastly, the family would like to personally thank Modern Hospice nursing staff Kristen, Tara, and Lauren, aide Ms. Gwen, and Chaplin John for all their help and guidance.
