Justine Hamende Collins

Justine Hamende Collins, 84, native of L’Erable, IL and resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church. Justine worked for many years as an upholsterer at Kroehler Manufacturers. She also worked for 10 years with Azzarelli Construction and was a member of the Steel Workers Union. She loved being a part of the Aroma Park American Legion F Troop Honor Guard. She enjoyed gardening. She was very proud to have lived to see her beloved Cubs win a World Series. Justine loved her German Shepherds and caring for them, but her most cherished love was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will have a celebration of her life Monday, April 10, at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, at 11 a.m. She is survived by her children, Susan Pridemore (David) of Bonfield, IL, Christine Cheffer (Larry) of Kankakee, IL, and Kathleen McComb of Denham Springs, LA; grandchildren, Angela, David Jr., Chuckie, Wesley, Sarah, Kristen, and Taylor; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Vernon Hamende (Donna) of FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Collins; son, Kenneth Hertz Jr.; grandson, David A. Pridemore; parents, Henry and Eva Hamende; and siblings, Russell Hamende and Elsie Storm.
