Anna Louise Blanchard Elkins age 95 of Baton Rouge, La passed away peacefully, Monday April 10, 2023, at her home. Anna was born July 30, 1927, in New Orleans, La to Wilson Joseph Blanchard and Alice Mabile Blanchard both of Pierre Part, LA. She was the youngest of 6 siblings. She worked for as a Caregiver and cook at Gretna Child Care Center, and helped our military by working as a Lens Inspector for Military machine guns. Anna enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking, and drawing. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Those who had the blessing of knowing her, will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her four children, Bruce “Ed” Elkins, Diana Peterson (Wayne), William Elkins (Dana) and Deborah Guillory (Gary, deceased); numerous grand, great-grand, and great, great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and numerous friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Wilson Joseph Blanchard; mother, Alice Mabile Blanchard; husband, Amos Eldon Elkins; sisters, Mae Blanchard Leonard, Theresa Blanchard Pillitire, Odette (Blondie) Blanchard Chamberlain and Olivia Blanchard; brothers, Dudley Blanchard and Delbert Blanchard. Special thanks to Pam Robertson, Anna’s Longtime Friend and Caregiver, and the staff of Cardinal Hospice in Baton Rouge.
A wake will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Friday April 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will resume Saturday, April 15, from 9:00am until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs. Online condolences may be left at www.sealefuneral.com
