Dewey Arthur “Jumbo” Ott, 86, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home in Denham Springs, LA. Jumbo worked for 42 years for Local #995 as an electrician before retirement. He also served his church as a Deacon at Amite Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, but his true joy was time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bonnie Whitehead Ott; son and daughter-in-law, Dewey Bryan and Lori Ott; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Dacey McManus; grandchildren, Jess Ott, Seth Ott, Blake McManus, and Madeline McManus; great-grandchildren, Parker and Hudson Ott; brother, John W. Ott; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosa Ott; brothers, Jack L. Ott and Gene Cox; and sister, Elizabeth Chavers. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Wednesdasy, April 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume at Amite Baptist Church, Thursday, April 20, from 9 a.m. until service at 11a.m. Officiated by Bro.
