Leonard Rushing, Jr. born in New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Denham Springs passed away April 22, 2023 at the age of 72. Leonard was a passionate minister for 46 years and enjoyed spreading the word of God. He was also a truck driver for 47 years and spent a lot of time on the road for his work. He loved being at his church surrounded by people he loved. He is survived by his wife Ruth Rushing, Son Jeffery Rushing, Daughters Crystal R. Stephens, Belinda Fontenot(Mitch), Grandchildren Darrien Rushing, Bailey Rushing(Logan), Cody Fontenot(Kendall), Brooke Fontenot, Great Grandchildren, Liam Worm and one on the way, his sister Florence Frazier and brother Edward Rushing(Roxane) He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard Rushing Sr. and Tresan Drew Rushing, his brothers Essey Rushing Sr., Vernon Rushing, Clayton Rushing, Cleveland Rushing, Houston Rushing, and son-in-law Joseph Stephens. Visitation will take place Friday April 28, 2023 at the Church of God of prophecy in Livingston (20942 Nevada St. Livingston, La 70754) from 5 PM-9 PM and will resume Saturday from 9 AM- 11 AM with service starting at 11 AM officiated by Rev. John Jones and Rev. Malcolm Berseygay and burial to follow in Beechridge Cemetery.
