Vera Hill McNabb

“A good name is better than precious ointment,
And the day of death than the day of one’s birth;” Ecclesiastes 7:1

Vera was born on January 17, 1928, and since her birth she surrounded herself with those she held dear to her heart including her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  On April 27, 2023, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by family and friends, Vera passed peacefully into her Savior’s loving arms.

Vera was a life-long member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bayou Barbary where she also served at the church as a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Her heart’s desire was for everyone to know the love and grace of her Lord and Savior.  Vera also worked as a seamstress at Neese Industries for over ten years as well as helping her husband with their poultry farm.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 21949 Louisiana Highway 444, Livingston, beginning at 1:00pm. Rev. Paul Taylor will conduct funeral services at 4:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery,

Vera married Milton McNabb and shared a solid Christian marriage for 71 years until he made his way Home with the Lord in 2018.

Vera had a green thumb and loved to spend time in her vegetable gardens and flower beds.  She loved to work with her hands and was very passionate about spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.  If you ever stopped by for a visit, Vera always offered to feed you and would put on a pot of coffee to share.  One of her enjoyments in life included taking trips with her husband, her children and exploring the mountains of Tennessee.
