2023ObituariesSteve Edward Hubert

May 11, 2023by SealeUser12

Steve Edward Hubert, a resident of Watson, Louisiana, passed away on May 9, 2023, after a courageous battle with ALS/FTD at 58.

He was born on October 5, 1964, to Edmond Gerald “EG” and Shirley Mae Hubert. He grew up in Baker, Louisiana, alongside his two brothers and sister – Donald Ray Hubert, Rhonda Ann Wyckoff, and Jerry Hubert Jr., and graduated from Baker High School in 1983.

Steve went on to have two sons, Taylor and Drew Hubert, whom he was incredibly proud of. He was a larger-than-life guy who loved spending time with his sons and Taylor’s wife Heidi, their mother and the love of Steve’s life, Julie, his nephew Michael and his wife Taylor girl, his dear friend Candi Faust, and the rest of his family and friends. Whether he was cooking, watching his beloved LSU Tigers, camping, or enjoying a beer, Steve never took his time with family and friends for granted. He also was a devoted Christian who loved attending Live Oak Church in Watson on Sundays.

Steve is preceded in death by his dear sister Rhonda, brother Jerry, mother Shirley, and father EG.

He is survived by his two sons, Taylor (Heidi) and Drew, brother Donald (Cassie), and love of his life, Julie.

The family would like to thank Candi and Jay Faust along with their entire family for all the love and support they have shown Steve over the years, his lifelong best friends Jennifer and Clark Wells and Roger and Mikelyn Marcomb, and the entire staff at Harvest Manor and Our Lady of the Lake.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 15, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, with the funeral service beginning immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ALS Association in honor of Steve Hubert.

Our hearts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Steve Hubert. He is a precious soul, and he had a smile that lit up the room! He loves the Lord, and he is safely with him now. His suffering is over, and his new, eternal life is only beginning. With every passing day, we are one day closer to being face to face with our Lord and also getting to see Mr. Steve once again. May he now rest in peace and in the amazing grace of God.

    God Bless,
    Pastor Stephen
