Marion R. Covington, 76, of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away on May 15, 2023. Marion served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1967 and was a Denham Springs High School graduate. He enjoyed fishing, building hot rods, being with family, and making his grandchildren laugh. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Greer Covington, his son Blaine Covington (Tawnya), his daughters Kerrie Rose (Brad) and Marcie Wiginton (Jeremy), and six grandchildren (Mandi, Ian, Lathan, Seth, Kati, and Sydney.) He is preceded in death by his father Roy Cline Covington, his mother Elmer Carter Lamm, his daughter Cristy Rae, and his brother William T. Covington. Visitation will be held at Seale funeral home in Denham Springs on Thursday May 18 from 9am until service at 11am. Burial will be at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans @ vva.org or Tunnel to Towers.

On behalf of my husband, Gwin Brister, who passed away in March of 2021, I extend my deepest sympathy to the Covington family. “String Bean” as he was known at Ethyl Corp. was a friend and well liked by all who knew him. Those “Rats” he built we works of art. He will be missed.
