Unice Sehlinger

October 25, 1946 ~ May 16, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Unice Sehlinger of Walker, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Unice went home to Jesus on May 16, 2023 at the age of 76. She was a graduate of Nichols High School and retired from Canal Barge for the last ten years.

Unice was a loving and caring person; always joking, laughing, and wearing a smile on her face. She loved talking to everyone, loved going to church, playing softball, and absolutely loved to dance.

She is survived by her loving husband Lester Leonard; her sons Jason Gannon and stepson Wayne Whitson; her grandchildren Joshua Gannon, Aimee Hooker, and Payten Gannon; her siblings Dianne Sehlinger (Mike), Janice Ferrera (Luis), Carol Jourdan (Tommy), and Paul Sehlinger, III (Theresa); many nieces and nephews and her beloved German Shepard Axel. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul Sehlinger, Jr. and Margaret Caruso Sehlinger, her sister Margaret Sparks (Walter); and her son Kelly Gannon  and daughter-in-law Christine.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at Seale Funeral Home on South Range Avenue in Denham Springs. Visitation begins at 12:00pm with services starting at 1:00pm
