Gladys Tyler Tucker

January 9, 1942 ~ May 25, 2023

Gladys Tyler Tucker died on May 25, 2023. She was born Gladys Ernestine Tyler on Jan 9, 1942 at home in Walker, LA. She led a life of many pursuits, partnering with her late husband George Tucker in founding Tucker’s Seafood in Plaquemine, LA, a prosperous seafood restaurant and market, with multiple other locations over the years. Gladys was proudly anticipating the upcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tucker’s Seafood to be held at its current location in Zachary, LA later this year. Gladys and George also raised various livestock including cattle, FFA and 4-H show pigs, alligators, and deer, among others. She loved to garden, fish, hunt, and spend time outside and with her family and friends. She loved her best friends Gary and Michelle Ayo dearly, with whom she shared many laughs and good times with. Gladys had a strong personality, and would give you a lecture on the world going to hell in a handbasket one second and whip you up the best batch of fried seafood you’d ever eaten in the next. She was a spitfire with a soft heart and will be dearly missed. Lazarus-Phillip Gordy, Blair Piras (Manny), Donna Katherine Menezes (Christian), Trey Hopper (Kayla), Lauren Lawrence, April Garner Matejowsky (Garrett), Hunter Lawrence, Kileigh Hanner, great grandchildren Isabel Koch, Noah Koch, Cannon Koch, Auguste Piras, Stella Matejowsky, Adele Matejowsky and Tucker Hopper as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Quinnie Tyler, and by her siblings Evelyn Erwin, Cecil Tyler, Raymond Tyler, Earlene Roby and Virginia Cockerham.
