Ronald Kenneth DeSilvey, a resident of Fordoche, Louisiana was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 28th. He was born on December 22, 1943 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Roy and Rita DeSilvey.
Ron served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. After the Navy, Ron worked for over thirty years as an electrical technician at various companies in Texas and Louisiana.
Ron was an active member and Deacon at Cane Brake Baptist Church in Lottie, Louisiana.
An avid fisherman, Ron loved spending time on the water catching his limit of red fish and speckled trout. He also enjoyed bowling, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
Ron was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Roy and Rita DeSilvey and son, Jason Langley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary, two children Kenneth DeSilvey and Cheryl Kirby, daughters-in-law, Maureen DeSilvey and Carrie Langley, three sisters, Lynne Foster, Becky Riels, and Rhonda Honea. He is lovingly known as Pawpaw and Grandpa Ron to his seven grandchildren, Bryant, Christina, Laurel, Josh, Jonathon, Swayzie, and Charlie and to his three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Hannah, and Easton who will all miss him immensely.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Cane Brake Baptist Church in Lottie, Louisiana. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. and will immediately be followed by a memorial service at the church.
