Doris L. Van

Doris L. Van, a resident of Denham Springs and native of St. Amant, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the age of 94. Doris, one of 13 children, was born to Alfred and Ida Lanoux on October 6, 1928. She attended Spencer Business School earning a Bookkeeping Degree. She worked at Bulk Transport for many years, some of which were from home as she raised a family. She then spent many more years at the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board in the insurance department from which she eventually retired. Doris is survived by son Barry and wife Diane Duplessis, son Jimmy Duplessis, several grand and great grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters.  Preceded in death by her husband William(Billy) Van, daughter Wanda Duplessis Averett and son in law Raymond(Boo) Averett, daughter Rebecca Duplessis Kiper, a daughter in law Joy, 2 grandsons, one great grandson, parents and 5 brothers and sisters. Visitation will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 11 AM – 1 PM with service starting at 1 PM and burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
