Lorena Long

September 20, 1936 – June 23, 2023

A loving wife, mother and grandmother she passed away peacefully, on Friday June 23, 2023, at her home in Zachary, La. She was 86 years old and a graduate of Istrouma High School and operated her own florist in Baton Rouge. She retired from the East Baton Rouge School System as a Bus Driver. After retiring, Lorena and her husband traveled extensively across North America. As members of the Cruising Cajuns, they made many special memories and very special friendships traveling in their motor homes.  She is survived by two sons, Randy Bayhi and wife Jamie, Carl Bayhi; two daughters, Denise Recatta and husband Mike, and Terry Bayhi; stepchildren, Kerry Long, and wife Barbara, and Kathy Long Ross, as well as numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, in Denham Springs on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 5pm until Celebration of Life Service at 7pm, conducted by Rev. Paul Jones. A private burial will take place at a later date. Lorena was preceded in death by her husband, Derle Gene Long; her parents, Marganie and John Jones; brothers, James Jones and Charles Jones; granddaughter, Jennifer Bayhi Jaines and a step son, Derle Ray Long.
