James Thomas Bruce, Sr.

James Thomas Bruce, Sr. 1946-2023 died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife of 57 wonderful years. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later moved to New Orleans. He served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years before relocating to Baton Rouge in 1979 where he worked as a sales engineer for several rep outfits. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather to his adorable grandson. He is survived by his wife Priscilla Bankston Bruce and his grandson Owen James Bruce, and his brother Daniel Payne Bruce. He was preceded in death by his son James Thomas Bruce, Jr. and his parents Betty Jean Stireman and Hoyt Payne Bruce, Jr. James was a fun person who loved life- he enjoyed cooking and listening to music with his grandson. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The Bruce family is thankful for the love and support of their neighbors, the magnanimous efforts of the EMTs and Denham Springs Fire Dept., and the wonderful care the VA has provided for many years. Visitation will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday July 14, 2023 from 5PM-7PM. Graveside service will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2PM.
