Sabrina Dorcas Covel

March 29, 1977 ~ July 10, 2023

Sabrina Dorcas Covel passed away on July 10, 2023 at the age of 46 from cancer. She was born in Independence, Louisiana in Tangipahoa Parish on March 29^th, 1977. A lifelong resident of South Louisiana, she was a music fan including heavy metal music, Jack Johnson and Alice in Chains. She loved attending concerts. She was a wonderful cook, and her children swear that her white beans and ham were the best ever made. She worked in a variety of areas including retail at Poole Lumber Company and Gabriel’s Building Supply, as well as Co-owning and managing Gitz Moving. Fashion was a passion for her and that was reflected in her online clothing business, Infinite Viking.

Sabrina leaves behind her children, Kaleb Emile Gitz and Gabrielle Briann Gitz. She is survived by her grandchildren Haven Covel, Cora Covel, and Axel Covel, children of Cody Covel. Sabrina’s siblings are Robert Covel, Jr., Bradley Covel, Robin Guillory, and Karen Guillory and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Anthony Covel, Sr. and Laura Elizabeth Campbell and her son Cody Jude Covel.

A memorial service will be held on July 20, 2023, at The Oaks (18444 LA-22, Ponchatoula, La.) in the Pin Oak room at 5:30 p.m.
