Delores Violet Swain Stafford, 78, of Walker, LA, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023. Delores was a long time resident of Livingston Parish, graduating from Walker High School, then going on to graduate from Jimmy Swaggart College and Our Lady of the Lake College. She worked for many years as a nurse, including being an Operating Room Technician. She was a very accomplished pianist with the ability to play by ear and played for many occasions at Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and for family. Most of all her true love was her family. She was a devoted wife to Ret. District Fire Chief, A.O. Stafford, Jr., and mother to Michelle and John. Delores also was a very proud grandmother and cherished all her time she had with them. She touched the lives of many and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Mangum Chapel Methodist Church, Walker, Sunday, July 23, from 12 p.m. until service at 4 p.m.with Rev. Val Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Sibley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Sibley, Shell Boidy Sibley, Michael Roy Sibley, Richard Stafford, Brad Toups, and Jeff Ard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Teekel, Marcus Bennett, Paco Swain, and Shane Talbot. She is survived by her children, Michelle Stafford Blades and husband, Kelly O. Blades, and John A. Stafford and wife, Candy H Stafford; grandchildren, Tyler Kirby, Trace Kirby (Laurel), Scarlett Blades-Matherne (Kevin), Chirstopher Parker (Liz), and Courtney Parker; great-grandchildren, Katelynn Kirby, Riley Kirby, Kayla Kirby, Christian Kirby, Caleb Kirby, Londyn Kirby, Blade Matherne, Autumn Matherne, Ethan Paker, and Matthew Parker; sisters, Shellene Swain Sibley (Marty), and Peggy Swain Blades (Fiancé, Jimmy Quick); sisters-in-law, Kay Stafford Snellgrove and Barbara T. Stafford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur O. Stafford Jr.; grandson, Kelly Swain Blades; and parents, Johnnie L and Violet Sibley Swain. Donations may be made in her honor to the Baton Rouge Fire Department Federal Credit Union Fireman’s Fund.     She was the sweetest lady! You knew that she served the Lord by her ways! She was always smiling! I am so sorry! I pray that God will give the family comfort peace and strength during this most difficult time! She will be dearly missed!

    Don’t even feel Real u gone aunt Delores had good times will always cherish at camp house on river all with our famlies!! Lots of laughs and good times Jr was so crazy he was my stupid Stafford!! Lol. Him and mom are twins. Our family keeps getting smaller it’s a burden we all know u are home never be forgotten ❤️ Rip Aunt Delores fly high.
