George Remmetter Jr.
George Adam Remmetter, 78, of Denham Springs, LA passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at home.
George was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, and friend. Outside of his family, George spent much of his time volunteering with many organizations, such as serving as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, March of Dimes, The Corvette Club, and coaching little league.
George graduated from Redemptorist High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. Upon graduating, he spent 24 years with South Central Bell. After he retired, he found his passion while owning and operating Chelsea’s Cafe until he retired a second time in 1999.
George is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice and their three children, Dawn Birdsong (and husband, Ben), David Remmetter, and Susan Wallace (and husband, Brad); his grandchildren, Adam Hebert (and wife, Splendid), Connor Hebert, Cole Birdsong, Brittney Holtzman (and husband, Nick), Gwendolyn Ozols Remmetter, Forbes Wallace, and Stewart Wallace; his great-grandchildren, Charlie Hebert, Carter Kate Hebert, Beckham Hebert and soon-to-be born Baby Holtzman.
George is preceded in death by his mother, Enid Remmetter, and two brothers, Jerry Webb and Phil Webb.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 5:00-8:00pm and again on Saturday, August 19 from 2:00-4:00pm with a service at 4:00pm. A Christian burial service will be at 5:00pm at Magnolia United Methodist Church in Greenwell Springs.
