September 17, 1953 – September 18, 2023

Michael “Mike” Cormier, a longtime resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana, entered Heaven’s gates on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 70. Mike was born on September 17, 1953, in Lafayette, LA, to Burley and Edolia Cormier. He dedicated 42 years of his life to Entergy Gulf States of Louisiana, retiring in 2015.
Mike’s deepest source of pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. He cherished every moment spent with them. He loved being in the company of his dogs, spending time at the hunting camp, and the thrill of riding around in his Slingshot.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Debra Cormier, and his daughters: Kelsey “Kelli” and her husband Lloyd “George” Hanna, Karen and her husband Jonathan Vavasseur, and Danielle and her husband Joshua Rogers. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cody Hanna and his wife Angela, Ashley Hanna, Audrey Blailock and her husband Garrett, Alexis Kuehn, Charles Michael Kuehn, Ava Claire Rogers, Amelia Rogers, Christian Rogers, and his great-grandson Michael Tillman Blailock.
He leaves behind his siblings: Kathy Macaluso and her husband Larry, Clyde Tullos, Jr., and his wife Leslie, Dicky Tullos, and Terry Tullos and his wife Carol, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Burley Cormier, mother Edolia Smith, and step-father Clyde Tullos, Sr., as well as his brother James “Jimmy” Cormier.
A Memorial Service to honor Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, with visitation at 9:00 am and service to immediately follow at Southside Baptist Church in Denham Springs, LA, where he was a dedicated and longtime member. The Reverend Bruce A. McKenzie will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike’s memory to a charity of your choice. Mike’s kindness and warmth will forever be remembered, and his absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
