Rebecca Coralea Thompson Cupit was called home to Her Lord and Savior on September 17th, 2023. She was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana on August 11th 1937, and was the youngest of 6 accomplished children of Thomas and Grace Thompson. Rebecca was a longtime resident of Denham Springs and graduated DSHS class of 1956.  She devoted her life to her surviving son Brian Christopher Cupit, and her beloved granddaughter, Rebecca Leigh Cupit. As a young woman, she was an accomplished tennis player and loved sailing on Lake Travis. She served the Teacher’s  Retirement System of Louisiana for 25 years and spent her retirement traveling to National Parks. She also supported the LSU TIGERS in many sports at home and away, traveling with her family. During the off seasons she enjoyed reading and jigsaw puzzles. She served Christ as a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. Preceded by her in death were her parents Thomas and Grace Thompson her brothers, Leslie, Tommy and Charles Thompson and her sisters Mary Williams and Lucille Bonneaze. Rebecca is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, 48 great nieces and nephews and 41 great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday September 30, 2023, starting at 11 AM with a Service starting at 1 PM at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA.

    Aunt Coralea was a wonderful person. She was a very independent and private person. She loved her son and granddaughter deeply. She will be greatly missed by everyone who’s life she touched.

    Aunt Coralea was an amazing woman, accomplished in so many ways. She defined class elegance and endurance She was so much more than an aunt to me and I will miss her dearly..but will treasure our wonderful memories….
