Harry W. Pearson, Sr.

Harry W. Pearson Sr, (77) of Norwood, Louisiana, passed away in his home on September 27, 2023. Harry was born to Winne and Ina Pearson on October 20, 1945, in Transylvania, LA at home at the family farm. In Harry’s younger years he worked on the family farm and attended school. He graduated from Lake Providence High School and then attended the local college 2 years before joining the Navy. He was in the Navy for two terms in the Mediterranean Sea during the Vietnam War. After the Navy he went into telecommunications with South Central Bell, later AT&T until he retired after many generations of communication changes. Harry loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, canning, and making good food, and “piddlin around” He loved his family.

Harry (Dad/Papaw/Pawpaw) is survived by his daughter Melissa and Bryan Sexton, and his 4 grandchildren, Kala, Sierra, Orin, and Charles and 2 great grandchildren, brother Tommy Pearson and sister Rebecca and Allen Dinsmore, SIL Martha Pearson, Stepson, Raymond and Annette Gens, and grandchildren Colin and Chloe, stepdaughter Yvonne and Ben Rowland and grandchild Emma, SIL Wayne Everett, grandchildren Jessie and Nick Lancaster and Dwayne and Jess Everett, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Proceeded by his parents, son Harry, sister Francis, brother Jack, SIL Marsha, former wife Margaret, lifelong partner Hellen Joan Gens, daughter Donna, Son Al, great grandchildren Joanna and Brandon.

Harry will be truly missed. We will miss all his stories and his voice. We will miss his smile and laugh. His hugs and stubbornness and his work ethics and all he shared with family and the community he served for so many years.

Harry’s family will be hosting a service for him at Seale’s Funeral Home on Sunday October 1, 2023 from 12-2 visitation with family and friends, with pastor starting service at 2.
