Raiford Eugene Caraway, Jr., 93 from Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 20,2023 with family by his side. Ray was born October 3, 1930 in Livingston, Louisiana and was preceded in death by his father, his mother, Georgia Milton Taylor, his step father, John Taylor, his brother, “Jimmy” Caraway and his sister Grace C. Bobnoch. Ray is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty S. Caraway, daughters Sharon Cranfield (Keith) and Karen Woodward (Dale), 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one to arrive in January. Ray was a beloved and devoted husband and dearly loved by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ray was a member of Watson Baptist Church and served as an ordained deacon at Faith Baptist Church, and Riverside Baptist Church for more than 40 years. His greatest desire was for his family and friends to know the Lord.
Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Bellsouth after 33 years. For the next 36 years he worked diligently in his own appraisal business. Ray and Betty loved camping with their family and friends and attending gospel music festivals. Ray’s favorite outings were to attend sporting events to watch his grandchildren and great children play ball.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Tuesday October 24, 2023 from 11:00am until service at 1:00pm. Graveside service with military honors will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.

Mr. Ray Caraway was a beacon of light to so many and he was the most kindest, generous men. He and his wife always shared the Spirit of Christmas each year with others. It was an honor and a privilege to have a professional and personal relationship with Mr. Caraway. We will miss him greatly.
