Tammy Jean Easley Hobgood

January 31, 1963 ~ November 16, 2023

Tammy Jean Easley Hobgood, 60, of Zachary LA, died peacefully at home after a short battle with an aggressive cancer on Thursday, November 16^th 2023 at 10:45 am.

She was born in Clinton, Louisiana to Clayton (CL) Laverne Easley and Glenda Pittman Easley.  Tammy was a graduate of Jackson High School and worked in the Security industry for years.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Laverne Easley, her mother Glenda Pittman Easley, her nephew William Easley, her sister-in-law, Dawn Easley her brother-in-law Johnnie Shuff and numerous other loved ones.

Everyone who knew Tammy knew her love of softball.  A proud moment in her life was when -at the age of 12 she played baseball with Dixie Youth Baseball.  She was the first female player in the state to accomplish this and was featured in Sports Illustrated.  She then went on to continue to play numerous softball and co-ed leagues, making life-long friends along the way.

Though she loved softball, baseball and band, Tammy’s favorite role was that as a grandparent.  She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their Memaw, never failing to show them how much she loved them every chance she got.

Tammy had an optimism and love of life that was contagious to all those around her. She was the definition of a people person and was the one that “got things done.” To know Tammy was to love Tammy.  There will forever be an empty spot in our hearts and an empty chair on the front porch.

She is survived by her wife of 26 years, Robin Griffin White.  Her children, Brandi Hobgood (Herschel Behr), Haley Hobgood, Rachel White, Joseph White, and Brittany Warren.  Grandchildren, Landon Behr, Dominic Behr, Daniel Behr, Kayahna Netherland, Rainey Wilkinson and Makena Hobgood.  Sister, Carolyn (Tidy) Easley Shuff.  Brother, Clayton (Charlie) Laverne Easley.  Nephews, John Easley (Latanya Easley), Benjamin Shuff (Ashley Shuff), and Jayden Easley.  Lifelong best friend and father to their two children, Randy J. Hobgood.

A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Tammy’s life at Second Baptist Church in Jackson, Louisiana on Tuesday, November 21^st from 4-6 pm.  Please wear Purple/Gold or Black/Gold.
