2023ObituariesSteven Gregory O’Neal

December 15, 2023by SealeUser9

Steven (Steve) Gregory O’Neal was born in Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs. He passed away December 13, 2023 at the age of 47. Steve loved spending time with his family, playing in the yard with Jude, visiting Mickey with Rebekah, learning all he could about the stock market and sharing that knowledge and cooking for his friends and family; especially boiling crawfish and frying turkeys! And, last, but not least, the love he had for his LSU Fighting Tigers. He was a friend to all and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife Rebekah (Digirolamo) and their son Jude Michael, parents Gregory and Elizabeth Ann and brother Scotty. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will take place Monday, December 18, 2023 at Judson Baptist Church, 32470 Walker Rd. North in Walker, LA from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM with services beginning at 4:00 PM. There will be a private interment at a later date. Pallbearers are Charles Ott, Jeremy Broussard, Chad Melton, Brandon Phillips, Michael Phillips and Josh Gautreaux. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Spedale, Kevin Bradley, Lane Mestepey, Justin Hebert and Mike Fernald.

The Broken Chain

“We little knew that day that God was going to call your name,

In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”

– Ron Tranmer

I am so saddened to hear of Steven’s passing. He was a huge part of my childhood and I will always remember the good times we had as kids. I will be praying for the entire family during this difficult time. Mrs. Ann & Mr. Greg, I pray for your strength and peace today and every day to come. Much love to the O’Neal, Carbo and Digirolamo families.

Praying for your family during this unexpected loss. I only knew Steve for a brief time and shared an office wall with him, but he certainly made an impact on me and so many others that he interacted with regularly. I enjoyed our chats about everything LSU, stock market strategy, and his IT vision for our company. Most importantly, he loved his family and friends and always spoke so highly of you. He was very evident from the first day I met him that he was proud father, husband, and friend to so many. His legacy and memory will not be forgotten. God bless you all, you are in my prayers. I worked with Steve for two short months after he took a leadership role in our company. Although our affiliation was professional and short at best, Steve quickly earned my respect and returned the respect I gave him in kind. I celebrate Steve’s life and deeply moan his passing.

To his family, please know you’re not carrying this burden alone. Please know that our God is God. Our God is real, and all power is in Our God’s hands. He knows your suffering, and He can ease your pain. He will get you through this, I promise you.

“And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”- John 16:22 New King James Version.
