Paul Edward Howard, Sr.
Paul Edward Howard, Sr., 75, of Watson, Louisiana, Sheet Metal Local 214 retiree, peacefully departed Thursday, December 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family shortly following a leukemia diagnosis.
Paul Sr. was born June 6, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama. His parents were Pauline and Billy Hays and Ken and Pat Howard. He was raised in Mobile, Alabama where at the young age of 14 he met his future wife, Jacqueline Blackmon. He worked as a mechanic, a trade that was taught to him by his daddy, Billy. Paul and Jackie were married, had three children and later moved to Louisiana where they have lived for the last 48 years. He stood as a loyal pillar of Local 214 and served many years as their President. His leadership extended to the Tin Benders Retiree Club, where he held the position of President for an extended tenure. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and hunting. Paul and Jackie loved traveling and attending their grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Howard of 58 years. His stepmother Pat Howard. His children Billie and Kelvin Gilleon, Harold and Tyree Howard and Paul Jr. and Rebecca Howard. Grandchildren Hope and Justin King, Paige and Jimmy Baledge, Brooke Gilleon, Wesley and Hannah Howard, Amber Howard and Taylor Fletcher, Ally and Austin Jessup and Paul Howard III. His 13 great-grandchildren. His brothers-in-law David and Buddy along with many other family members. His loving yorkies Lucy and BB.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Howard, Paul Howard III, Justin King, Jimmy Baledge, Austin Jessup and Taylor Fletcher.
The service will be led by Pastor Guy Mims and will take place with visitation at River of Life Worship Center, 18295 Hwy 16, Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Wednesday, December 27, starting at 11 a.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m.
