Tamara “Tami” Walton Shaw
October 5, 1958 – December 22, 2023
Tamara “Tami” Walton Shaw passed peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on December 22, 2023 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 65.
Tami is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael Shaw, and children Jerry Clayton (Ellie), Jason Clayton and Michelle Shaw. She is also survived by grandchildren Brittani Scott (Sam), Jessica Sullivan (Jeffery), Patience Clayton, Anthony Clayton and Jaxon Cunitz, along with great grandchildren SJ Scott, Landen Davis, Victoria Coon, Elyanna Scott and Merci Sullivan. She is also survived by sisters Sharon Lachney, Teresa Armstrong (Danny), Rhonda Bellemore, Kim Batte (Dennis) and Traci Martin, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family.
Tami was preceded in death by her parents Dale Walton and Jewel and Bonard Copeland, her son Michael Shaw Jr and sisters Dena Graham and Bari Valluzzo.
Tami was born on October 5, 1958 in Tupelo, MS. After moving to Louisiana she married her husband Mike and the couple raised 3 children in Denham Springs. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always showing acts of kindness to those she loved.
Tami was passionate about her family and friends and helping anyone she could. She was a witty woman who loved playing Words with Friends and watching her LSU Tigers.
Tami’s funeral is scheduled for December 29, 2023 at noon at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs with visitation from 10am to noon. Pastor Derek will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tami’s life. Condolences may be offered at
