Raymond Earl “Hank” Hood, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his home in Denham Springs, LA. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was also an avid hunter and carpenter and enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals whenever he could. He defended his country by serving int the United States Army. Raymond was a loving and dedicated husband of 58 years. He was an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and was known as “Paw Paw Hank” to Jayce, Remi, and Brody. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Visitation will be held at Hebron Baptist Church, Denham Springs, Saturday, January 20, from 9 a.m. until service at 12 p.m., officiated by Rev. Johnny Morgan and Rev. Carl Sullivan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret DeLatte Hood; sisters-in-law, Elmalee Hood, Aline Hood, and Wilma Cardon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Myrtle McNabb Hood; brothers, Ralph L. Hood (Neva), F. Berlin Hood, Wendell G. Hood (Lois), and Ernest Hood Jr.; and sister, Violet Hood (Garney Sr.).

Pallbearers will be David “Bo” Hood, Hunter Hood, Keith Hood, Cade Hood, John Fulton, Mark Cardon, Trent Cardon, and Brett Falgoust. Honorary pallbearers will be Millard Williams, Wayne Crotwell, Garney Hood, Jr., Mark Hood, Darrell Dugas, Barry Falgoust, Brian Sanford, Brian Crow, Craig Crow., Devin Dugas, Mason Dugas, Jim Hood, and Dale Fulton

    We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers for you. Hank was always gave a smile and treated everyone like family. He will be missed greatly.

    Never a more kind and caring person has walked this Earth. Always friendly to anyone he met friend or strangers. Those hugs I got every time we saw each other will last in my memories for a long time. Prayers lifted up for the family and Margeret at this time. Many precious memories will see you through this time.
