Michael Joseph Goutreaux

Michael Joseph Goutreaux died on January 28, 2024. He was 68 years old. He was born in Houston, Texas and a resident of Watson for 55 years. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Judy Ratcliff Goutreaux, daughter Ladonna Beth Goutreaux Hains, his oldest son Eric John Goutreaux and wife Brandy Guidry Goutreaux, and his youngest son Michael Jake Goutreaux and wife Lianne St. Angelo Goutreaux. His father-n-law Billy Gene Ratcliff and numerous step brothers, step sisters and step nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Brett Taylor Goutreaux and wife Sarah, Drew Michael St. Angelo, Shelby Renee Goutreaux Spitale and husband Brent Spitale, James Michael Hains, Michael Jake Goutreaux Jr. Great granddaughters Addison Grace and Skylar Kate Spitale. Very special Sister, Luanne Goutreaux Miller, that has supported us both through this journey. We thank you. A very special brother-in-law, Dan Norton. Nieces Melissa, Brittany, Meagan, Becky, Samantha, Katy. Nephews Brandin, Cameron, Travis. Great nieces Isabella, Lily, Harper, Mackenzie, Presley, Amanda, Maddy, Emma, Bailey, Isabelle, Byainn. Great nephews Wyatt, Lee, Wilder, Hudson, Hailex, Hunter. Great great nephew Kingston. Special kids in our neighborhood that he loved over the years Jacob, Jessica, Nat, Lizzy and latest one Isaac, to name our closest ones. Many cousins he talked so fondly of Glen, Sonny, Howard, Lloyd, Brenda, Sara, Debbie. Our Talladega Crew, Judy Steve, Jo, David, Mike, Diane, Dennis W., Barney and Cindy S. He had so much fun with you guys. Many fond memories of the hunting hunting camp with Andy Hall, Virgil and Mr. Floyd. He is also survived by sister-in-laws Susan Ratcliff, Michelle Ratcliff Martinsen, Brandi Pique Hudson and husband Eric Hudson, Millie Goutreaux, and sister of the heart, Debrocka Stanley, my rock! She has been there for both of us for over 50 years!! We thank you! Her grandsons Layland, Sullivan, former son-in-law John Hains and wife Nedra and her son Janus.
Preceded in death by his mother Alene Goutreaux and father James Goutreaux. One brother Leonard Goutreaux and sister Denise Goutreaux Norton. Great nephew Taylor Baker, sister-in-law Crystal Pique, three grandchildren in heaven that were lost due to miscarriage. A very special friend he called his brother, Ronald M. Guillot. His mother-in-law Dodie Pique and step mother-in-law Claudette Ratcliff. Know that he loved you all.
His family at Cooper T. Smith that he worked at for almost 30 years as a crane operator: he told stories of the guys and and funny things over the years all the time. Some are gone but some remain… Mike K, Chad, Pops, Kylon, Duck, Freeman Scott, Kenny G, Kenny N. James N., Philo, Barney, Mike W., Glen H. he loved y’all too. Last but not least was his memories of school. Many people touched his life at Live Oak High.. Bonnie, Rose, Glynis, Brad, Gerald, Kathy, Alton, to name a few.
As per his wishes there will be no services as he requested, he was here and now he’s gone.. remember him at that time you knew him. Know that he was always a special friend to everyone and had a helping hand for all. In the true meaning of loving his neighbor as Jesus said to do, he was that person. He will be missed! So that is what the memories should be you knew him. A shout out to our special neighbors! Gayle, Paul, Gwen, Matt, Floyd, Larry, Marilyn. A special friend Glenda Erwin, Dr. Durwin Walker, our friend as well as our doctor, and also Bernard’s Drugs for putting up with me. I thank you Jenna and Darnell.
