Donald Bernard Richardson
Donald Bernard Richardson left his earthly home on February 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 29, 1939 as the oldest of 5 children to Pansy Elizabeth Ferguson and Clyde Bernard Richardson in Brittany, LA. He grew up in the country and learned to love the outdoors, having many adventures in the woods and swamps around his home. He would later tell many stories from these days to those around him. He was valedictorian of Gonzales High School and went on to graduate from LSU. He met the love of his life, Barbara Kleinpeter Richardson, at a church dance in Gonzales, Louisiana. They soon were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Don had a passion for teaching and spent many years serving in different capacities in both work and church. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership positions throughout his lifetime.
After 20 years of service, Don retired from Pelican Advisory Group as the Senior Vice President of Advanced Markets. There he excelled with unparalleled expertise in training and marketing and was instrumental in the development of many financial planners across the country.
He enjoyed time spent studying the gospel, fly fishing, directing choir, woodworking, telling jokes and many stories and spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pansy and Clyde Richardson, and his grandson, Jeremy Beasley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Richardson, his five children; Randall Richardson (Roxanne), Crystal Beasley-Fatkin (Ken), Clif Richardson (Dina), Rachel London (Devon), and Scott Richardson (Lisa). His eleven grandchildren; Brittany Busk, Danielle Roblin, Kevin Richardson, Michelle Owens, Jamie Beasley, Brooke Galindo, Jared Beasley, Bronwyn Dance, Lauren London, Katelyn Richardson and Mason Richardson, as well as, 29 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four siblings; Patrick “Pat” Richardson (Rosemary), Joseph “Sherry” Richardson (Janet), Larry Richardson (Pam) and Carla Stuckey (Don).
Services to honor Don’s life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 25367 Riverton Ave, Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9 am until noon with services to follow and burial at Evergreen Memorial Park.
