Elizabeth “Liz” Koles Ivanyisky

Elizabeth (Liz) Koles Ivanyisky, 94 years old, a native of Albany, Louisiana, and longtime resident of Denham Springs passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Her parents were Hungarian immigrants and she was raised with her siblings on a strawberry farm. Liz was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed tending to her flowers, and took pleasure in cooking for her family and friends. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary post 178. Liz was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Denham Springs where she taught religion classes and was a volunteer at the council on Aging. She is survived by her son, Alex Jr. (Lynette); two granddaughters: Melissa Easley (Jay) of Denham Springs and Kathy Brown (Andrew) of Farmerville, Louisiana; five great-grandchildren: Julianna Easley, Isabella Easley, Kaylen Brown, Sydney Brown, and Andrew Brown. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Alex Ivanyisky, Sr.; her parents Frank and Mary Schromco Koles; sisters Anna Kopsco, Ethel Prokop, Margaret Lala, Helen Kropog; brothers, Frank Koles Jr., James (Jim) Koles, and John Koles. Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane in Denham Springs, LA on Saturday February 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with Mass starting at 12 PM and Mass of Christian Burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park on South Range Avenue in Denham Springs. A special thanks to the caregivers at House of Grace that made her stay there so very comfortable and for the care she received from Audubon Hospice. Her physical presence has been removed from our midst, but her spiritual strength remains with us.
