William Roger McCray of Livingston, Louisiana sadly left us on February 14, 2024 from complications brought on by Covid 19. He was 62.
He was known by family and friends by his middle name Roger. He grew up as a happy and fun-loving child and attended school at Doyle in Livingston. The youngest of six kids, he developed a great sense of humor and was known for his practical jokes and playful wisecracks. He worked his way up through several jobs from carpentry, vinyl siding, and truck driving and finally to a long career as a heavy equipment operator, working in many of the plants and refineries located up and down the Mississippi River. He was dearly loved by family and friends and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his two brothers Richard McCray and John McCray, sisters Joyce McCray, Barbara Elberling, and Janice David, Numerous nieces and nephews, Uncles, E.J. (Jewel) McCray, Earl McCray, Harold Denham, and David McCray, his aunts Hazel Lott, Shirley Denham, and Linda Glascock.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Ray McCray and his loving mother, Norma Jean Lott McCray, as well as grandparents on both sides.
Visitation will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Livingston (20335 Texas Street) on Sunday February 18, 2024 from 1 PM – 3 PM with service starting at 3 PM and burial to follow in Old Red Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane McCray, Kerry Kendrick, James David, Travis McCray, Aiden McCray and Dylan McCray.
