October 30, 1938 – February 22, 2024
Gary Howard, age 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 22, 2024. Gary was born in Newport, Arkansas on October 30, 1938 to Cecil and Alice Howard. He moved his family to Denham Springs in 1961 and made Denham his home.
Gary retired from Western Union. He was an avid sportsman… he was the President of “Big Track Hunting Club” for 51 years. Some of the best years of his life were spent at “the camp.” After deer and turkey season were over, he loved fishing at his camp on Old River. He was a little league baseball coach for 19 years in the 70’s and was a very big influence to a lot of young men in the Denham Springs area. He also served on the District 5 Volunteer Fire Department board for several years. Gary was also a natural builder, there wasn’t anything he could not fix or build. And last but not least, he loved watching LSU sports!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Gary. I remember going to big track hunting club, he was ALWAYS tinkering with something, sending tons of prayers to y’all for the days ahead.
