James George Tetterington, 79, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was born in Rockford, Illinois on January 24, 1945 and was a resident of Pride for many years. He was a carpenter by trade and a handyman for anything he put his mind to. James enjoyed spending time with his grandson and daughter, playing cards with his friends and family, fishing, watching westerns, and was a history buff. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.
James is survived by his daughter, Melinda Bass, Candace Tetterington, and his grandson Bentley James Tetterington.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Shirley Tetterington, sisters Darleen Breland, Sharon Thomas, and Ruth Tetterington, brother-in-laws Ray Breland (married to Darleen Breland) and LC Cochran (married to Sharon Thomas), and parents James Max Tetterington and Candace Rachel Tetterington.
The family gives its thanks to Harvest Manor Nursing Home and Life Source Hospice for all of their care. It cannot be put into words how loved and cherished James was and he will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Dad, I love you with all my heart and will miss you so much. You were the best dad and absolute wonderful Paw Paw. I’ll never forget everything you did for me, all the love, encouragment, laughs, and memories, and the things you taught me. I will carry you in my heart, always. I’m so glad for the time you and Bentley had together. Thank you for loving him so much. Please give my mama a big ol hug and kiss from the both of us. I have peace knowing you’re pain free and with my mama! Love you always, dad!
