Darlene Marie Chauncy Harvey, age 69, passed away on February 29, 2024. Darlene was born in New Orleans and received her GED from Walker High School. Darlene was a devoted homemaker for her family, and she enjoyed online shopping, mostly on Temu, sweet tea, cell phone games, and watching old westerns on TV. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Anita Adams, Tisha Gill, Brandi Mahaffey; son, Gary L. Harvey, Jr.; grandchildren, Justin Adams, Heidi Navarre, Hannah Vidrine, Emily Dloniak, Shasta Kelley, Caden Harvey, Maggie Harvey, John Gill, Mark Gill, Jordan Ballard, Douglas Majaffey, Jr., Dustin Mahaffey, Christian Mahaffey, Lacey Johnson; 15 great grandchildren, Anne Marie Dailey, Jace James, Navarre, Adler Dloniak, Layton Beadle, Liam Kelley, Gannon Kelley, Mark Allen Gill, Jr., Dawson Gill, Amelia Ballard, Colton Ballard, Mason Mahaffey, Mckinley Mahaffey, Grace Mahaffey, Ariel Mahaffey, Micah Mahaffey; as well as expecting the birth of three more great grandchildren, baby Mahaffey, baby Gill, Ricky Ballad III; sisters, Deborah Chauncy, Anne “Bunnie” Brand, Tammy Guidry; brothers, Sam Chauncy, James Chauncy; numerous nieces and nephews. Darlene is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gary L. Harvey, Sr.; parents, Inzy Elliott Chauncy, Samuel Chauncy; son, William Harvey; grandson, Cullen Hayes; brothers, Thomas Chauncy, Terry Chauncy; son-in-law, Darrol Adams. Pallbearers will be: John Gill, Mark Gill, Caden Harvey, Douglas Mahaffey, Christian Mahaffey, Ricky Ballard, Jr.; honorary pallbearers will be: Kyle Johnson, Lacey Johnson, Jordan Ballard, Jon Lott. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Charlie Gill, Jr., Douglas Mahaffey, Sr., and Casey Harvey. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00pm at Seale Funeral Home 1720 S. Range Ave. Denham Springs, LA 70726. Burial will immediately follow at Harvey Family Cemetery, 211 Harvey Ln. Greensburg, LA 70441.

It’s been an honor to be your daughter in law for the past 20 years. You’ve been more than just a mother in law, you’ve been a friend & the glue that held this family together. You gave so selflessly of yourself to so many. You gave freely even if that meant having nothing left for yourself. Your absence is already profoundly felt. We will miss you eternally. I know you are rejoicing in Glory with your husband, son, grandson & parents. Please keep watch over us all….& tell Darrol “there, there” for me. ; ) We love you so much!
