Raymond Edwin Smith, 76, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at his home. Raymond served and defended his country in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a mechanic before retiring. He was known for being able to fix anything from a lawnmower to a diesel engine and anything in between. Raymond had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and made many friends through this passion. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by daughter, Mona Rae Duplessis; stepdaughter, Michelle Paul; grandchildren, Blake Duplessis, Megan Duplessis, Raeleigh Duplessis Flowers; step-grandchildren, Ashley Jones and Christopher Reed; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jackie Frost and Sherry Ann Curtis; nieces, Irene Craig, Robin Wright and Joyce Fabre; nephews, Mark and Timmy Craig, Steve and Charlie Hardin; as well as numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lester Smith and Lula Irene Bennette Smith.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. following the service at Louisiana National Cemetery.
