Georgia Ann Smith Posey

Proverbs 31:25-31

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
On March 16, 2024 at 6:44 pm, Georgia Ann Smith Posey, born October 11, 1935, closed her eyes on this Earth, and opened them to the face of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her dear family who stayed by her side until her very last breath. Georgia was reunited in death with the love of her life “Billy” Posey, her oldest son, “Buster” Posey, her oldest grandson, “Randy” Posey, her best friend, Janice Reine and her beloved parents, William and Eva.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted children; Kenneth “Kenny” and Karen Posey; Mark “Bo” and Kerry Posey; Billy and Sharon Edmonston; Jesse and Dedra “Dede” Moreau, and Barry and Brandi Posey.
She was the best mawmaw and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
Billy, Amy, Billy and Joshua Edmonston; Mason, Wendy, Samuel and Maggie Bowen; Caje, Monica, Benjamin, Briggs and Bear Moyer; Joey and Hayden Bowen; Aubrey, Brittney, Bella, Ezra Mixon and Brandon Moreau; Marcus “Andy”, Candace “Candy” and Jacob “Manny” Posey; Brandon, Bear, Brelynn and Blake Posey.
Her last days were spent surrounded by her loved ones, worshipping and praising her Savior, and sharing her faith with everyone. She was a virtuous wife and mother, a faithful follower of Christ, a generous and selfless human and she will be missed more than words can ever describe. We know that we will see our precious mama, mawmaw and Bootsie again, on the other side of Glory!
We would like to thank Georgia’s granddaughter, Brelynn, for the amazing, around the clock care that she provided to her mawmaw these past few months.
