Vivian Howatt Johnson

Vivian H. Johnson, a resident of Baton Rouge and Clinton, Vivian Mary Howatt Johnson died Friday, March 15, 2024, in an automobile accident. She was born November 25, 1958, in Fayetteville (Fort Bragg), North Carolina to Lester C. and Sarah M. (Wintz) Howatt. Her parents, both retired Army veterans, moved their family from Fayetteville to Carville in 1965 where Vivian’s mother was a native. They later settled in Gonzales where Vivian graduated from East Ascension High School and later Louisiana State University with degrees in History and Physical Geography (Meteorology).  She was near retirement from the Air Planning and Assessment Division of the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality where she served as a Senior Staff Scientist.

She is survived by her spouse, Kurt Johnson; daughter, Nicole Aucoin Bourque (Brady); granddaughters, Olivia Maude, Baylor Marie, and Mollie Michelle; siblings Jim Howatt (Gail) and Frances Melancon (Bob); nephews, Robert B. Melancon (Laura), Neil Melancon (Mandy) and niece, Theresa Howatt Ulmer (Mark) and seven great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
