Alex Joseph Robeau, Jr. “Big Al”

May 10, 1949 ~ March 21, 2024

Alex Joseph Robeau, Jr. passed away as a result of an automobile accident on March 21, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on May 10, 1949, in Baton Rouge, LA, he was the beloved husband of Joanne Culmone Robeau for almost 51 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex Joseph Robeau, Sr. “AJ” and Bernice Robeau of Baton Rouge, and his brother Thomas Robeau.  He is survived by his wife Joanne Culmone Robeau; his sister Diane Robeau Scimeca.  Alex was a loving father to Alex Robeau III (Adelynn)  and Heather Huval (Brandon).  He was a loving “Pops” to Cole Harris, AJ Robeau IV, Lydia Huval, and soon to be Aria Robeau. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Alex proudly served in the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained while in the Vietnam War. He was a business owner for many years and founded Worksite Lighting.  In his free time, he indulged in his favorite hobbies of fishing and cooking. Alex never met a stranger.  Above all, Alex’s family held a special place in his heart.

Alex Joseph Robeau, Jr., or “Big Al” as he was commonly known, will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral service will be held in Denham Springs, LA, to honor and celebrate Alex’s remarkable life on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. A graveside service with military Honors will immediately follow.   Please sign the online guestbook at
