Billy Ray “Pops” Ballard

Billy Ray Ballard, known affectionately as “Pops” passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024 and is now joined in heaven with his beloved wife, Linda Higginbotham Ballard, who passed away on November 16, 2023.

Billy was a graduate of Denham Springs High School. He was an expert with car repair, body work and painting. In his later years he enjoyed his home on the river with his wife, watching, protecting and feeding the wildlife on their land. You could always find him sitting on his porch visiting with friends and family.

Billy is survived by his children, Maureen “Tootie” Burge (Jack), Duke Spring (Deanna), and Michael Ballard; grandchild, Tiffany Bigner (Trent); and great-grandchildren, Oaklee and Gus Bigner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Higginbotham Ballard; parents, Elbert and Donis Ballard; grandchild, Jonathan Brashier; sister, Brenda Ballard Meadors; and brother, Buel Ballard.

Per Billy’s request, there will be no services. Please continue to keep his family in prayer during this difficult time.
